So I'm not sure how I let the fact that I was going to be planning at least 6 periods and then multiple centers a day go by me. In school we are asked to type up a lesson plan and hand it in. some classes even asked us for a unit plan. But a full week's plans with new programs I have never used, let a lone been trained in was definitely a struggle for me in the beginning. Here's what I wished I would have known earlier:
Electronic Planning Can Be Your Best Friend
| This is what my plans look like when I print them out. You can put them into a binder with paper protectors so they open like this on your desk. I don't have a desk so I keep them on a clipboard. |
Organization of files
I keep the current week I am working on and the last week of plans out of the folders so if I missed something from the week before I can cut and paste it into the next week
Lesson Summaries
I also make a file for each subject where I keep my lesson summaries in. This way I am not searching through weeks and weeks of plans when I am looking for a specific lesson.
Lesson Summaries Organization
| I save each of the lesson summaries that I use in my lesson plans for the programs we will be using in the future. This way next year I can easily find them. Also, any changes I make to the lessons can be easily noted. For example, I highlighted a lesson I wanted to supplement next year because the children needed more practice on the skill. |
